Serial over Ethernet

Make devices and applications wireless with Serial to Ethernet Connector

Serial to Ethernet Connector is an application that allows you to share COM devices connected to a computer to other computers on the same local network. It can also create virtual ports in order to exchange data with applications that use a serial interface. Serial to Ethernet Connector can be set up for a variety of uses, including access to serial devices from inside a virtual machine.

Serial to Ethernet Connector Features

If a piece of software running on a virtual machine needs to access a physical serial device, this can be accomplished with Serial to Ethernet Connector. This applies to both Windows and Linux virtual machines. Device Redirection to Virtual Environments
If one of the connected computers does not have physical serial ports, Serial to Ethernet Connector can create virtual ones. These ports can be accessed by software, behave identically to a real serial port, and can be assigned custom names. Virtual Serial Port Creation
In case the connection is interrupted, there’s an option to buffer data that’s being sent. As soon as the connection is restored, the buffer will be sent. This prevents issues with lost data and allows a more consistent experience in conditions with poor connection quality. Data Buffering
A port can be shared to multiple clients at the same time, both to receive data and to send it to them. There are options available to specify which clients can read from the port or write to it, making setups with parallel connection more flexible. Simultaneous Connection
A serial port can be configured to broadcast data to all computers on your network over UDP. These messages can be received by any device listening on the designated port, without the need to set Serial to Ethernet Connector up on them. UDP Broadcasting
he Telnet RFC 2217 protocol can be selected when creating a connection. This protocol allows the client to exchange various commands related to port configuration and flow control with the server and is commonly used in industrial equipment. Telnet Redirection

Advanced RS232 Settings

Serial to Ethernet Connector allows you to configure every aspect of your connections, providing nearly-universal compatibility with serial software and hardware.

Signal Line Configuration

Signal Line Configuration

Signal lines are fully customizable, allowing you to either disable any specific line or select their default states when the connection is up or down. Telnet-specific signal line settings are also available.
Flow Control

Flow Control

Enable hardware or software flow control to avoid data loss when transferring large volumes of data. Serial to Ethernet Connector also allows you to restrict data flow by setting a delay between messages.
